Buddha's Paranirvana: Tibetan Antique Bronze
Fine workmanship and detail on this approximately 150 year old bronze of The Reclining Buddha Shakyamuni (The Enlightened One, The Buddha, Siddartha Gautama). The base is surrounded with beautiful images of praying Arhats worshipping at a stupa with relics of The Buddha. Buddha's face is particularly beautiful and peaceful, a true image of Enlightenment. Other images of The Buddha's life surround the bronze base, including: His enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, the temptations of Mara, and on each end, the Wheel of the Dharma with the deer of Deerpark. The Bhudda's head reclines peacefully on a lotus flower. Length 15 1/2 inches. Very old bronze in magnificent condition.
