Ushnisha-Vijaya is a peaceful deity, known as the emanation of Vairocana
Buddha. She is also known as the Mother of All The Buddhas. She is
essentially a manifestation of emptiness acting a a Bodhisattva as
other deities of Buddhism. She is able to bestow long-life one beings
not merely for selfish purpose but for helping all others towards
enlightenment. She is also a purification deity as well and invoked
in the presence of the dead and also invoked as a means of settling
disputes.
She is white in color as an autumn moon and has three faces, white,
yellow and blue respectively each with three very large eyes. She
has eight hands. The first right hand holds a Vishva Vajra, miniature
Amitabha Budha image, an arrow respectively and her fourth right
hand has an eye in her palm and is diplaying supreme generosity or
varad mudra. Her first left hand holds a vajra lasso, displaying
bestowing protection posture, a bow respectively and the fourth hand
is in meditative equipoise holding an auspicious nectar vase. She
is seated in vajra posture.
Ushnisha-Vijaya is often accompanied by deities Amitayus and White
Tara; together known as the Three Long-life Deities of Tantric Buddhism.
Namgyalma is practiced by all the schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
